ScriptTone ("we", "us", or "our") operates scripttone.com and the ScriptTone voice generation service. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how you can contact us about your data.

Personal Data

When you use ScriptTone, we may collect information that can identify or contact you, including:

Email address and name
Payment and subscription records processed by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record
Password hashes for email sign-in, or OAuth account identifiers for social sign-in
Usage data such as generated minutes, exports, projects, preferences, and generation history

Usage Data

We may collect diagnostic information such as IP address, browser type, device details, pages visited, timestamps, request logs, and error logs. We use this to operate the Service, prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve reliability.

How We Use Your Data

To provide, secure, and maintain ScriptTone
To generate audio, previews, AI-directed prompts, exports, and project history
To process subscriptions, payments, invoices, cancellations, and refund requests
To send transactional email such as verification, password reset, and account notices
To provide customer support and respond to requests
To monitor usage limits, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service
To diagnose technical issues and improve the product

Data Storage and Security

We store account, project, usage, and billing metadata on secure servers. Generated audio and exports are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage. We use SSL/TLS for data transmission. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We never store raw payment card data; payments are handled by Dodo Payments.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate ScriptTone:

Dodo Payments - payment processing, subscription management, tax compliance, and receipts
Cloudflare - DNS, CDN, security, and R2 object storage for audio files
Google Cloud and Gemini - text-to-speech generation, script direction, chunk planning, and related AI processing
Resend - transactional email delivery

These services may process data according to their own privacy policies.

Scripts, Audio, and AI Processing

You retain rights to the scripts you submit and the audio you generate. We do not claim ownership of your content. To generate audio, previews, AI-directed presets, and chunk plans, your submitted scripts and direction prompts may be sent to our AI providers. We use this content only to provide the Service, show history, enable downloads, and troubleshoot user-requested issues.

We do not use your private scripts or generated audio to train ScriptTone models.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, security, preferences, and basic analytics or diagnostics.

Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, export, or object to certain processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as needed to provide ScriptTone, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete your account record, projects, scripts, generated audio, exports, and associated stored files from active systems. Limited billing, tax, security, fraud-prevention, and backup records may be retained where required or reasonably necessary.

Children's Privacy

ScriptTone is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
